Our approach here is to discourage practices inside the cultures of the mountain communities which curtail the rights of women. Another approach we have been applying for this end to use our MTB-MLE schools as ‘safe places’ for women to get some basic literacy of their native language, Urdu and English. We sometimes design projects which are for educating and training of women. We also publish booklets for women on issues like health, environment, civic education and civic participation. We have also been advocating for the provision of facilities for women to get high and higher education.
