To increase literacy and awareness among the girls and women of the target area IBT implemented a one-year project targeting 2,000 girls and women of ages 18 to 40. Under this program 50 Women Education Centres were established in 50 different locations in Swat-Kohistan in Swat wherein 40 learners were encouraged to learn to read and write their language and Urdu. Through this program literacy in women in the area increased considerably and eventually enrolment of children at schools increased in some faraway areas.
