IBT uses the cultural capital for human development as well. IBT implemented a one-year initiative whereby 160 craftswomen in embroidery and pottery were trained and mobilized so that they may use their needlework and other handicrafts for boosting their economy. The women began to earn more money from their products, especially embroidery. Along with the women 40 men, mostly carpenters, were also trained so that they may use their expertise for making small wooden toys in order to sell in bazaars during the tourists’ season—summer in the area.
