Read moreIBT is an award-winning research, advocacy and training organization mainly focused on the overall socio-cultural empowerment of the mountain communities of North Pakistan with a commitment to preserve, promote and revitalize the endangered languages by enabling them to be used in all domains such as social, educational, literacy and in digital media.
IBT is the winner of the Linguapax International Award for 2021 for its work on languages, culture and education.
IBT envisages “a developed, peaceful, tolerant, self-reliant and clean north Pakistan, which is upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan”.
To transform the most neglected sections of Pakistani society especially the marginalized ethnic groups living in northwest Pakistan into empowered and developed communities by the active participation of people without any gender, racial and religious discrimination.
IBT operates in Swat, Chitral, Indus Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Dir. It has an effective liaison and network in these areas. IBT’s head office is located in the scenic town Bahrain in the Swat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
